About the Author

After a 25-year Air Force career following graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy, John Rabins fulfilled a boyhood dream of becoming an optometrist. He graduated from the New England College of Optometry in 2000 and established a family-practice clinic in Colorado Springs. In 2022, he retired from his optometric career. He’s resided in the beautiful Black Forest for over 30 years with his wife and their dogs, cats, and a ball python (who, believe it or not, is over 40 years old). John enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly hiking in Colorado’s mountains and riding his bike. He also plays piano, accompanying the worship team at his church, and periodically composes worship pieces.
